Pizza Making Instructions

Ciao Junior Pizza Chef!  Are you ready to have fun putting your pizza making skills in to practice?

We have provided the instructions from your pizza making kit below so you can keep making pizzas at home!

Ingredients

  • 1 x dough ball
  • Pizza sauce
  • Cheese
  • Basil
  • Flour

Equipment

  • Apron & hat
  • A clean surface
  • A rolling pin
  • Baking paper (or a pizza stone)
  • An adult to supervise

Let’s Get Started!

Preparation

  1. Preheat your oven to 250 degrees (maximum oven temperature). If you are using a pizza stone, preheat the oven or one hour for best results.
  2. Clean, sanitise and dry your kitchen bench Lightly dust the surface with flour

Making your pizza base

  1. Place one ball of dough in the middle of your floured surface
  2. Sprinkle the top of your dough with flour
  3. Grab your rolling pin and roll backwards and forwards 3-4 times, then turn the dough 90 degrees with your hands
  4. Repeat this process until your dough is approximately 2-3 mm thick and has formed a nice round shape
  5. Place the pizza base on a sheet of baking paper (not grease proof paper!)

Creating your pizza

  1. Spoon approx. 1⁄4 cup of sauce in the middle of the pizza base
  2. Using the back of your spoon, slowly spread the sauce in a circular motion, pushing it out from the centre to approx. 1-2 cms from the edge of your pizza. This leaves room for your crust
  3. Sprinkle a handful of cheese over the area of the pizza base that is covered in pizza sauce

Cooking your pizza

  1. Carefully pick up the pizza base using the baking paper and place on the middle shelf of your oven (or on top of your pizza stone if you have one!)
  2. Cook for 10 – 12 minutes (timing will vary slightly based on your oven)

TIP: The Pizza is ready when the crust is light golden-brown in colour and the cheese in nicely melted.

The Finishing Touches

  1. Remove your pizza from the oven and slide it from the baking paper on to your plate
  2. Cut the pizza into slices with a knife or pizza cutter if you have one
  3. Add a basil leaf on each slice
  4. Drizzle with a little extra virgin olive oil Serve, share and enjoy!
